Every town has a story.
Town Crier announces each town as you drive into it, then tells you something worth knowing about it — hands-free, with your eyes on the road.
Coming soon to the App Store
How it works
Open it and drive. No route or destination to set.
Hear the town as you cross the line. Its name, then a fact about the place.
Keep your phone locked. It runs in the background and plays through your car's speakers over Bluetooth.
What you'll hear
Towns
Tens of thousands of U.S. towns, each with curated facts.
Bridges
Major bridges announced as you drive onto them.
Your trip, later
The History tab keeps the towns you passed so you can read more when you've parked.
Private by design
No account. No ads. Your location is used on your phone to work out which town you're in, and we don't build a history of where you drive. See our Privacy Policy.
Made for the road
Everything is spoken, so you never need to look at the screen. Town Crier isn't a navigation app — use it alongside your maps app.
